COME TO ME AND REST
He took me to a place, and I could see a man. An elderly man
and he were in chains and some heavy metals were upon him. Then I saw a man of
God appear and begun talking to this man in chains. He said,” Just believe in
Jesus Christ and this chains will be removed.” The man upon believing, I saw
those heavy chains being unchained easily and the burden was gone and he was
free again. “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give
you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart:
and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
What hinders man’s intimacy with God is the sin of unbelief;
doubt. God so loved the world so much that He gave His
one and only begotten son so that whosoever Believeth in Him
should not perish but have everlasting life.( John 3:16) The Gospel is so simple, just believe and be saved. The power
to overcome sin only through believes in Jesus Christ. He has overcome the world and concurred sin
and death, He died and now He is alive. Salvation
is so simple that man tends to doubt, they say it can’t be that simple, I have
to do something! I must work to earn this salvation. But in that attempt to
make something happen, we make Christ’s suffering as of no value. We are
declared righteous to God through faith, and faith believes in Him the one and
only true living God. Without this
faith, it is impossible to please God: for he that cometh to God must believe he
is, (Hebrew 11:6)
We must know that our Human nature is sinful and every one of
us is guilty of Sin “There is no one who does not sin.” 1 Kings 8:46, John
8:7-11. And this means that we can’t please God in our own way as it is written,
There is none righteous, no, not one : there is none that understandeth, there
is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are
together become unprofitable ; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. (Romans 3:10-12)
“But now the righteousness of God without the law is
manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets ; even the
righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all
them that believe ; for there is no difference : for all have sinned, and come
short of the glory of God ; being justified freely by his grace through the
redemption that is in Christ Jesus : whom God hath set forth to be a
propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the
remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God ; to declare, I
say, at this time his righteousness : that he might be just, and the justifier
of him which believeth in Jesus.” Romans 3:23-26
People rely on the outward
act or form by which they indicate their recognition of the existence of a god,
or gods, having the power of their destiny and this is what we call religion. Humanity
loves religion and definitely you will find some form of religion where humanity
is. The salvation of Jesus Christ gives
us freedom from the bondage of sin and liability to eternal destruction, and
eternal happiness while religion gives us bondage, we remain chained and there
is no freedom from sin, it does not make one meek, humble imitator of Christ,
it is not of God, it is not godly or heavenly; it is hellish and of the devil.
Religion is not salvation. The righteousness of God is being produced by the
Spirit of God.( Romans 5) and it comes through hearing by faith.(Acts 10)
Those who genuinely believe in Jesus, He gives them the power
to become sons of God. They are the mirror image of Christ as they display Christlikeness
in their lifestyle. They walk by the Spirit and do not gratify the desires of
the flesh.
To believe therefore, comes hand in hand with true repentance
and turning away from sin, remember faith without action I dead.
Lord we have sinned so
many times and are guilty of unbelief,
We have failed to find
your mind in your word,
May you subdue our
corruptions and give us power over them
And may all the glory
be unto your living Son Jesus Christ. Amen and Amen
