SIN AND BACKSLIDING

If you drop a frog in a pot of boiling water, it will of course frantically try to clamber out. But if you place it gently in a pot of tepid water and turn the heat on low, it will float there quite placidly. As the water gradually heats up, the frog will sink into a tranquil stupor , exactly like one of us in hot bath, and before long, with a smile on its face, it will unresistingly allow itself to be boiled to death.
The boiling frog story is generally told in a metaphorical context , with the upshot being that people should make themselves aware of gradual changes lest they suffer eventual undesirable consequences.
Falling away from faith is not but a one day experience but it takes place slowly with warnings being given.
“Now to Him Who is able to keep you without stumbling or slipping or falling, and to present you unblemished (blameless and faultless) before the presence of His glory in triumphant joy and exultation ( with unspeakable , ecstatic delight).” Jude 1:24
God is able to keep you from falling. You may say, well then, why did I fall previously, this is it. You walked into the situation step by step and the Lord was there by your side warning you , but you hardened your heart and held unto rebellion.
This is the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. To ignore or disobey the voice of the Holy Spirit is to abuse the Holy Spirit. There is no way you can be led to repentance if you so choose to disobey God.
“ it is impossible for those who have once been enlightened , who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have share in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age and who have fallen away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting Him to public disgrace.” Hebrew 6:4-6
Sin blinds and enslaves, those who sin will be blind for the sin they are committing. Its somebody else that is capable of seeing the sin they are committing and they won’t realize until they are way down the ditch.
If you so choose to meddle and think that you can handle those movies or you say its okay talk to her and to pick that phone call or to hung around with that man or those guys or drink socially or pass through those magazines, then I am here to tell you that if you continue meddling where you ought not to be, then the defense walls will begin to be brought down and you will be ripped off Joy, and you will find yourself in the deep pit that you can’t come out easily. To sin is to miss the mark.
Sin is to cast aside the will of God and to live according to your own will, deserting that which is true and lawful in order to satisfy one’s desires in order to obtain happiness. (Pleasure) yet in so doing yet in so doing one does not obtain real happiness or enjoy real pleasure. Sin has no individuality , so that no one can say that sin was created. It is simply the name of a state or condition . There is only one creator and he is good, and a good creator could not have created a bad thing, for to do so would be against His very nature. And a part from the one creator , there is no one who could have created sin. Satan can only spoil that which has already been created, but he has not the power to create anything. So sin is not part of creation, nor is has it independent existence such that it could be created. It is simply a delusive and state of being.
Take for example light and darkness, light is something which has real existence, but darkness has not, it is only a state, the absence of light. Thus sin and or evil is not a self-existent thing, but simply the absence or nonexistence of good. This dark state of evil is most terrible, for because of it many miss the right course, and making shipwreck on the rocks of Satan fall into the darkness of hell and are lost. For this reason, Christ the light of the world, became manifest in the flesh, so that those who put their trust in Him should not Perish, for He rescues the from the power of darkness and bring them safe without fault to that desired and heavenly haven, where there is neither name nor sign of darkness.
We all have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory, we have missed the mark. It only through grace that we are saved. It was done and finished at the cross. There is nothing we can do to add upon the grace that our God showed us.
Repentance must go with forgiveness, Our Lord and savior Jesus Christ is more than willing to forgive, true repentance is to turn away from sin, not the confession by mouth.
