UNDERSTANDING OUR GOD GIVEN PURPOSE

Purpose is;  The original reason of existence of something The original intention that was in the mind of the manufacturer that motivated him to produce a certain product The reason for your birth. You have no reason to celebrate your birthday if you don’t know your purpose.  You cannot start a journey and you don’t know the destination. Your understanding of purpose is key to an outstanding life.  What was in the mind of the manufacturer of pens, microphones, books, television etc ? if you can find out what was in their minds then you have discovered their purpose. Before God created me and you, he saw a need, a gap and a problem on the ground. Meaning you were created to fill this gap and be a solution to that problem. Ask yourself these questions;  What was in the mind of God before creating you? What did he want to be achieved through your life? If you get answers to these questions, then that’s your purpose. Purpose is the value you are in earth to add or create and the difference

How to Spend Each Day with God

Richard Baxter   A  holy life  is inclined to be made easier, when we know the usual sequence and method of our duties — with everything falling into its proper place. Therefore, I shall give some  brief directions for spending each day in a holy manner. Sleep Measure the time of your sleep appropriately so that you do not waste your precious morning hours sluggishly in your bed. Let the time of your sleep be matched to your health and labor, and not to slothful pleasure. First Thoughts Let God have your first awaking thoughts; lift up your hearts to Him reverently and thankfully for the rest enjoyed the night before, and cast yourself upon Him for the day which follows. Familiarize yourself so consistently to this that your conscience may check you when common thoughts shall first intrude. Think of the mercy of a night's rest and of how many that have spent that night in Hell; how many in prison; how many in cold, hard lodgings; how many suffering from agonizing pains and sickness

WHOSE IMAGE ARE YOU?

 An Image is a visual representation of an object. It is the likeness of something. When you look at yourself in the mirror, you will see an image of yourself. The image is the likeness of the object which is you. The image has nothing more/extra or less than what you have. This exactly means that the Image and the object are the same. Let's try and figure this out in the life of a Christian. I'll use myself as an example, before I got born again, I was living a different life. I was living a life of oppression. I was living in anger and bitterness. My life then wasn't pleasing to God. In this case, my life was an image/ clear indication of the kingdom I was operating in then. But when I got born again, my old man and his deeds were put off and I became a new man. With time, I was renewed in knowledge and I became an image of Him who brought me out of darkness into His marvellous Light (Jesus Christ). This is exactly what happens when one gets born again, the old self fades

"Redeeming the time." (Ephesians 5:16, KJV) Christians should not only look for ways to improve the opportunities they have, for their own advantage, but also labor to rescue others from their evil ways; so that God might defer his anger, and they might be redeemed from that terrible destruction, which, when it does come, would put an end to the time of divine patience in their lives. And it may be because of this, that the reason is added, "Because the days are evil."  TIME FLIES. The days, the weeks, the months and the years slip by with incredible speed, and are gone before we realize it. It seems as though they no more begin, than they are gone, passed into eternity. So, too, the happenings of the day soon recede into the distant past. Everything in this world is fleeting and transitory—nothing is stable and lasting. "We spend our years as a tale that is told" ( Psalm 90:9 ). Being busily engrossed with the occupations, labors and pursuits of life we are more or less insensible to the swiftness of passing time, of the solemn fact that life itself is fast getting away from us, and that the end of our earthly journey is speedily and surely approaching. A godly man weeps

  (from Thomas Watson's "The Godly Man's Picture")   David sometimes  sang with his harp ; and sometimes the  organ of his eye  wept: "I water my couch with my  tears " (Psalm 6:6). Christ calls his spouse his "dove" (Song 2:14). The dove is a  weeping  creature.  Grace dissolves and liquefies the soul , causing a spiritual thaw.  The sorrow of the heart, runs out at the eye  (Psalm 31:9). The Rabbis report that the same night on which Israel departed from Egypt towards Canaan, all the  idols  of Egypt were broken down by lightning and earthquake. Just so, at that very time at which men go forth from their natural condition towards heaven, all the  idols of sin  in the heart must be broken down by repentance!
